What inspired you to design this unique men’s undershirt?

My undershirts are always way too big, wide, and loose on the bottom and they end riding up and bunching above the belt line making it look like I have a spare tire around my waist. How is this shirt different than other leading designers?
Tommy John undershirts use Tailored Stretch Technology ™, which combines a unique stretch fabric and form fitting design technology to ensure the shirt stays tucked in, breathes well, and doesn’t shrink. Once you pull this shirt down over your lower body, it will stay in place by hugging your lower body. It will not ride up, bunch up, or come untucked.

My shirts never fit right. Does this shirt fit the same way it does on the person modeling the shirt?
Unlike other undershirt designers, Tommy John does not pin back the shirts on its models to deceive consumers. Our shirts fit the consumer the same way they do the model on our packaging and website.
Men Sizes: (Chest) / Length:
S (34-36) / 27.5"

I’m not in that good of shape and it looks like this undershirt is only for fit people?
That is incorrect. The Tommy John Tailored Stretch ™ is for all shapes and sizes. Men of all sizes have faced the same challenges of riding up and bunching with their undershirts, regardless of how big they are. Tommy John is proud to be the first company to design an undershirt that hugs the body and stays tucked in, while giving you unmatched comfort and feel.

I’m out of shape and am looking for clothing to provide a “slimming” appearance to my waistline. Will this undershirt make me appear bigger because it’s form fitting?
With the Tommy John Tailored Stretch™ line, men achieve a sleek, pulled-together look instead of that old-school bunching and dishevelment. Because the shirt stays tucked in, it is able to provide a slimming appearance. It’s the way an undershirt should fit.

My shirts shrink when I wash them and end up being too small to wear. How is the Tommy John Tailored Stretch ™ different?
Yes, Tommy John undershirts were made for this reason. They are made with a material that doesn’t shrink, along with a unique design that is longer than normal undershirts to eliminate this problem. No more buying a size smaller or a size up to compensate for poorly made undershirts. Click here for more information about Tailored Stretch™ Technology.

I stopped wearing an undershirt because of the way they fit, but I now have to get my shirts dry cleaned after every wear. How can a quality undershirt help?
Many men who don’t wear undershirts take their dress shirts to the dry cleaners after one wear. If you have an undershirt to soak up the sweat, you will take your dress shirts to the cleaners less often, resulting in decreased dry cleaning costs and increased life of dress shirt.

What is “Tailored Stretch” technology??
Tommy John’s Tailored Stretch™ Technology combines a unique stretch fabric and form fitting design technology to ensure the shirt stays tucked in, breathes well, and doesn’t shrink. Once you pull this shirt down over your lower body, it will stay in place by hugging your lower body. It will not ride up, bunch up or come untucked.
The Tailored Stretch ™ line fits true-to-size; the days of buying a size bigger in anticipation of shrinkage are over. The Tailored Stretch™ line also offers superior wicking for a cool, fresh look all day long.
The Tailored Stretch™ is summed up very simply. “It’s the way an undershirt should fit.” It is now common knowledge that undershirts don’t fit the torso of the majority of consumers. Unfortunately, men have just dealt with this problem for years…….until now.

What should I look for in a quality undershirt?
Although you may consider it a given that your undershirt fits properly, many men do not realize the importance of this rule. On one hand, if your undershirt is too tight, you’ll be uncomfortable all day. On the other hand, if your undershirt is too large, you’ll become irritated with the excess material around the sleeves, bottom and sides of the shirt. Your undershirt should fit loosely enough so that you have room to breathe, while staying tucked in all day.

Who designs your products?
Tom Patterson and our product development team. Each undershirt is worn under a shirt and tie while we work. Each new prototype has to pass our own extensive comfort and performance testing. Based on this research, we are then able to move forward with the final designs that you purchase.

How did you come up with the name Tommy John?
Ever since I can remember friends and family have called me “Tommy” and my middle name is “John,” said Founder Tom Patterson (Thomas John Patterson). I thought “Tommy John” would be an easy name for people to remember, since everyone seems to know someone by the name of “Tommy” or “John.”
